The SGM3 beamline on ASTRID2
Specifications of the AU-SGM3 beam line
In order to utilise the new 3rd generation light source, ASTRID2, the beam line has undergone only minor changes. The vertical focusing mirror (VFM) has been changed from a spherical to an elliptical in order to have a coma-free image of the source on the entrance slit (ENS) and the refocusing mirror after the monochromator has been changed from toroidal to ellipsoidal.
A sketch of the AU-SGM3 beam line is shown below. The source is the same U55 undulator previously used ASTRID, which has been installed in straight section 3 of the ASTRID2 ring:
Beam line element | R / mm | Inc/grazing angle | Distance from prev./mm | Type |
