Week 3, January 15, 2002.

Status of the ring: The start of the electron run has gone well. We have good injections, and have been able to accelerate and store currents > 100 mA, which is fine this early in the run.
Unfortunately, yesterday it was discovered that the fan which cools the large supplies in the ring centre had broken down, causing a number of temperature related problems in the dipole supply. We are now working on getting the fan repaired or replaced, and will start running again as soon as possible. Any news will be posted on our status page.
