Week 47, November 20, 2001.

Status of the ring: We are now preparing for Ion Run 02/2001, which will start on Monday Nov 26 and run for the remainder of 2001. You can see the ASTRID 2002 schedule on our schedule page . This and next week we will try to measure the lifetime of metastable Li^- again. It is a complicated state to produce, since it involves producing Li⁺⁺ using the EBIS, and charge-exchanging it back to Li^-. After that, LHA will run until Christmas. After the holidays, we go back to electrons (Electron Run 1/2002). This run starts on Monday the 21^st of January 2002.

The EU contract is expected to be signed this month, and we have advertised our call for proposals in Europhysics News and on our web site. You will find a link to the ' Call for proposals ' page on the home page as well as on the 'information' pages. Please let us know of any errors, suggestions, comments etc..
