ISA meeting

Week 43, October 23, 2001.

Status of the ring: Last Tuesday, we made some adjustments to the RF system, resulting in higher beam currents (around 180 mA). Yesterday, the tuning of the machine was continued, and we managed to store 193 mA. There are still some problems with the RF system and one of the quadrupole supplies. We hope at least to find out what the problems are during the remaining 3 weeks of this run, such that they can be fixed for the next electron run, which is schedules to start in week 4/2002.

The ASTRID 2002 schedule has been made. It is not yet final, so if you have any comments, please contact . You can see the proposed schedule on our schedule page

The beamlines have been busy and successful during the past few weeks.
Among the new users was a group from the Danish Polymer Centre at RISØ, who were very pleased with the results they obtained on the SX-700. A continuation of these experiments is planned.
The UV1 beamline has been very busy studying photoabsorption of mulecules in the UV region. The experiments were performed by scientists from Belgium, Greece, Portugal and UK.
