ISA meeting

Week 32, August 7, 2001.

Status of the ring: The ring has been running well during the past week. Currents are generally about 170 mA, and the lifetime is still improving. We may have solved an old problem concerning one of the quadrupole supplies, which was the cause of many unintended beam losses. A low-level power supply has been repaired, and since then, we have not seen the problem.

The beamlines are now all active.
The x-ray microscope is currently being set up and will hopefully be ready to take data soon. Eric Chantler is here again, and will stay here until the middle of October.
The UV1 had visitors from UCL last week. The week was very successful, SVH reports. The UV1 has some problems with intensity fluctuations when the undulator is moved. Today, we have tried to find ways to overcome that problem, but so far without success. We will try other ideas later, probably tomorrow morning.

ELISA is now commissioning the electron target, and will soon be ready to start running again.
