ISA meeting
Week 17, April 24, 2001.
Status of the ring: Electron run 1/01 ended yesterday morning. During the last few days of the run we started to have some problems with microtron stability. The problem lies
somewhere in the klystron modulator. We will work to have the problem fixed before the next electron run starts in week 31 (July 30). Another reason to get it fixed soon, is that the
positron group plans to use the microtron intensively, starting in a few weeks. If there are any other modifications/changes/repairs etc. which need to be ready for the next electron
run, please let us know now!
The changeover to Ion Run 1/01 is now in progress. The laser interaction chamber and ion RF section have been mounted and pumped down. Bakeout will start today and continue
until Thursday, such that the run can start as planned on Monday. Later, the detectors in corners 2 and 4 will be mounted and baked. The schedule for the coming ion run may be
seen on http://www.isa.au.dk/schedule/2001ionrun1.htm .
The run will start with Li-, charge exchanged from Li++ as produced by the EBIS source from a Li+ separator beam. This beam has been prepared during the past weeks, and a weak
Li- beam has been seen.
Remember the meeting TODAY in 525-323 at 12:30, during which results obtained in this SR-run will be presented. There will be one brief (max. 15 min) presentation from each
beamline. The purpose is mainly to inform all of us about the many activities at ASTRID. Everybody is welcome!
