ISA meeting
Week 3, January 16, 2001.
Status of the ring: ASTRID has been set up since last Wednesday with beam for conditioning also during the weekend. We
have had 160 mA accumulated and 150 mA accelerated, so it seems that the new and slightly narrower undulator vacuum
chamber has not limited the acceptance significantly. A leak, which developed in corner 2, has been fixed. Lifetimes are still
improving, and now we have around 10 hours at 150 mA; a factor of three less than at the end of last run. The first few morning
hours this week will be spent on machine optimisation.
A new version of the control system CONSYS has been prepared and can be installed.
Our web pages has to be updated! Please check your own contributions!
The conditions in the target chamber at SGM I have been improved. The obtainable pressure has been decreased to around 10-10
mBar. Furthermore the targets can now be heated with more power than previously.
