ISA meeting

Week 45, Nov. 3, 1998.

Status of the ring: The mechanical modifications on the ring necessary for the ion run have been made, and the ring is currently being baked. Everything seems to go well. Next, the injection beamline will be finished. The separator is almost ready now, and the second magnet is being mounted. It should be finished this week. Today or tomorrow we hope to start the separator, and get a beam as far as possible in the injection beamline.

The 1999 schedule: The proposed 1999 schedule for ASTRID is included on the back of this page. Please note that the first week of each electron run is designated as a 'start-up' period, in which user beam can not be guaranteed, and in any case, the intensity and lifetime can not be expected to be up to the usual standard. If you have comments to the schedule, please contact SPM.

The change of computer network last week went well. You must remember to change your email account, according to the instructions in the mail from Torben Worm yesterday. If you need help, please contact Peter Damm.

Repeated from last weeks meeting report:
The ISA User Meeting 1998 is getting close. It will be held on Monday November 16, and all the posters MUST be ready before then. Robin is poster coordinator, and there will be a list with the names of the projects that must be represented. Since most of you recently made a contribution for the activity report, it should be an easy task to make the posters.
