Design of ConSys System Kernel - Data Server Layer
Design of the Data Server layer
The data servers is the glue that connects clients with the devices. The data servers may be wary simple constructs that basically passes on data, or they can handle complex data manipulations. The data servers exist on a multiple instance principle. They are not designed to store persistent information, or to handle functions that is not a bijection between input and output.
There is some basic roles for the data servers:
- There is a kind of data server that handles input and output from a transport module, and routes the data to another data server.
- A kind of data server that interfaces to a device.
- A kind of data server that handles groups of data servers (se CPacketServer).
- Special function data servers. These data servers handle special
manipulation a specific parameter.
